A three-storey administrative and amenity building of an oilfield service base in Atyrau Region for 250 workers: offices for engineering services, a control room, changing rooms and showers with workwear drying, a canteen and a first-aid station. We are building it on a turnkey basis using a rotational work schedule.
The client's objective
The base needs a building where staff can change clothes, dry their workwear, eat and receive medical care, and where engineering services can work in proper offices. The site is remote, with challenging natural conditions.
Site conditions and solutions
- saline soils — foundations with protection of concrete against an aggressive environment;
- summer heat and strong winds — reinforced fixing of the building envelope;
- changing rooms and showers with workwear drying for a shift of 250 people;
- a 120-seat canteen and a first-aid station;
- rotational work schedule: crews live at the company's existing rotational camp.
Aggressive soils The saline soils of Atyrau Region destroy unprotected concrete and reinforcement. Protection is built in at the design level: concrete mix, waterproofing and anti-corrosion measures.
