A distribution warehouse for a grocery chain in the northern industrial zone of Karaganda with three temperature zones: dry storage, cold rooms and deep-freeze rooms. We developed the design and are carrying out turnkey construction.
The client's objective
The grocery chain needs a distribution center with different storage regimes and fast truck handling. Karaganda is a city with cold winters, so it is important not only to keep the cold in summer but also to heat the office block efficiently.
Solutions
- a steel frame and polyisocyanurate sandwich panels for the refrigerated zone;
- heated floors in the freezer rooms to prevent ground freezing;
- 8 dock doors with shelters, storage height 10 m;
- refrigeration equipment with heat recovery for heating the office.
Heat recovery Refrigeration machines constantly reject heat. Instead of releasing it outdoors, part of it is used to heat the office block — this reduces the operating costs of the warehouse.
What has been done and what is ahead
- Design Developed by the company with the storage technology in mind — industrial design.
- Foundation works Construction began in June 2026; foundations and the floor slab have been poured.
- Current stage Frame portals and roof purlins are being installed.
- Ahead Panel envelope, heated floors, refrigeration equipment, docks.
- Handover Bringing the rooms to operating mode, commissioning and putting into operation in Q2 2027.
Result
The chain will receive a distribution center with three storage regimes and reduced heating costs. We have experience with such facilities — for example, a warehouse with cold rooms in Shymkent (see the Projects section).
