A secondary school for 600 students in the Alatau District of Almaty. The three-storey building is being constructed with a cast-in-place reinforced concrete frame and anti-seismic measures in accordance with current codes.
Objective
The district needs a full-fledged school: classrooms and laboratories, a sports hall and an assembly hall, a canteen with a kitchen and a landscaped site. The main structural requirement is the reliability of a building for children in the seismically active zone of Almaty.
Solutions
- a cast-in-place reinforced concrete frame with seismic strengthening — joints, reinforcement and seismic joints in accordance with the Kazakhstan building codes (SP RK) for seismic areas;
- classrooms and laboratories;
- a sports hall and an assembly hall;
- a canteen with a kitchen;
- a landscaped site with sports grounds.
Almaty seismicity For schools and other facilities where many children are present, seismic resistance is built in at the design stage. On site, the key factor is the quality of the reinforcement and concrete of the frame, so every stage of cast-in-place work undergoes acceptance inspection.
